2019 Ministry Year Goals
by Jedidiah Coppenger
Hey, RCC!
I’m so excited about the 2019 RCC Ministry Year, which started October 1! As we step into this new ministry year as a church, with so many opportunities and challenges before us, I wanted to share with you 3 goals I’d like for you to pray for and pursue with me.
GOAL #1: WE ARE PRAYING THAT THE RCC FAMILY HAS 500 GOSPEL CONVERSATIONS WITH NON-CHRISTIANS
RCC wants to a church on mission with Jesus who said that he came to “seek and to save the lost” (Luke 19:10). While there are many aspects to this mission, the heart of it is about letting people know how to have a saving relationship with Jesus and inviting them to do so. While we can’t make our non-Christian friends, neighbors, co-workers, etc. have a saving relationship with Jesus, we can make sure they know how to start a relationship with him. That’s why I’m praying that we will be a church that shares the gospel at least 500 times over the next year. With a church our size, that means that we just need to share the gospel a couple of times to hit that goal! If we made it a goal to share the gospel 1 time each month, we’d pass the goal in 2 months!
If you don’t know an easy way to share the gospel, I invite you to check out this short video here. We’ll have more opportunities for training in the coming days.
For those that are willing, we have created an easy form to let us know that you have had a conversation here. All you do is simply check that you had one and share the story if you feel like it will encourage others. We’d love to hear of all kinds of efforts!
GOAL #2: WE ARE PRAYING THAT 300 NEW STEPS WITH JESUS TAKE PLACE AT RCC
A saving relationship with Jesus is a growing relationship with Jesus. That’s why I’m praying that RCC would see 300 new steps with Jesus taken in 2019. Here are some examples of possible areas we could see these 300 new steps with Jesus taken:
This list isn’t comprehensive, but certainly highlights key areas to take a next steps with Jesus and encourage others to take next steps with Jesus. If you do take any of these, you can let us know here.
GOAL #3: WE ARE PRAYING THAT $700,000 IS GIVEN TO RCC TO ADVANCE JESUS’ REDEMPTIVE PURPOSES THROUGH RCC
Last year RCC received approximately $675,000 through generous financial gifts! This was well over our $450,000 budget! THANK YOU!! As we prepare for the unique opportunities and challenges before us in the 2019 ministry year, we are praying that our financial situation continues to grow to $700,000. Whether people make a one time gift or give consistently, every dollar makes a huge difference. Not only will we be able to do many of the things we are currently doing, we will be able to make strategic improvements in several key areas like increasing our international missions engagement, improving our national church planting investment, updating our website (we got over 10,000 unique visits last year!), adding to our staff (admin assistant, student leader, are two pressing areas), and more!
We are asking you to pray for these goals and pursue these goals with us. We pray our goals because we believe we need God’s help to accomplish them. We pursue them because we believe God’s calling us to join him in these strategic missional ways.
Love y’all,
Jed
