Staff Update: Lemanuel Williams
Hey RCC!
As we announced yesterday at our membership meeting, Lemanuel and Sarah are following God's call to go back to Peacemaker's, the inner city ministry in Rocky Mount, NC, he moved here from, August 1. We are so pumped for them to follow God's call in this way, even as we are so sad to see them go. We love Manny and Sarah and will miss them so much! They have made such a great impact at RCC over the past couple of years. We plan on having Manny back to preach as he can, so you'll see them again. But please be sure to express your love and appreciation for them as they transition into this new assignment starting in August.
Here's a personal word from Manny:
Hey RCC fam, it's been about two years since I came to Redemption City. I've enjoyed being involved in the life of the church and being able to serve the Redemption City family with the RCC staff. As many of you know, before I arrived at Redemption City, I was working in an inner-city context at a non-profit called Peacemakers. The work I did there was very impactful on me. If you've heard me preach a few times, you've probably heard a story from that time. Over the past several months, and after careful and prayerful consideration, Sarah and I feel that God is calling us to return to the work at Peacemakers in South Rocky Mount, NC. The current issues in our nation will have a huge impact on the South Rocky Mount community, and we hope God uses us to help bring unity and peace in that community in the coming years. We love you RCC and will be praying for you. Please be praying for us.
While this is a sad time, we also believe that it is a strategic time. We believe God only works in the "win-win" for his children. That means we'll be cheering and praying for them (and maybe even partnering in some ways), while we look for what God has for RCC in this next season. We believe that God is calling RCC to start looking for an Executive Director/Pastor to help RCC move forward in this next season. You can check out more info about this role here.
We don't believe we are "losing" them, we believe God is calling us to "send" them. So, this Sunday, Manny will be preaching and then at the end of each service, we will be praying over them. I hope you can join us in person or online.
