This past Saturday, Redemption City Church (RCC) was able to partner in a local missions project with the Las Americas Church! It was an amazing opportunity to demonstrate the grace and love of God to our neighbors in Franklin Estates!
Nathan Velasquez, Hispanic Minister at RCC, was being a faithful witness to an employee at a local grocery store when he heard her mention a need for a new roof. The old roof had molded and decayed and would soon cave in. The family lacked the financial means to repair the roof. Fortunately, she stayed in a neighborhood that the Las Americas Church is faithfully working in. So Nathan and the Las Americas congregation decided to help and be a representation of the Gospel. RCC was blessed to be a part of the work.
On Saturday Nov. (10) Las Americas Church and RCC worked together to put a brand new roof on this family’s home. The project was completed and the gospel was proclaimed. We even had the privilege to share the gospel with one of the next door neighbors who saw the work we were doing.
This project is a reminder that the gospel empowers us to be people of good works. These works are merely glimpses of a kingdom coming; but also a representation of a untied and loving family that God has put together.
May the Lord bless both RCC and Las Americas Church to continue to partner together and be a blessing to our neighbors in the near future. Our prayer is that through our local mission projects we can make much of Jesus name in our city.
We look forward to local missions projects like these in the near future!
