Meet RCC's New Family and Missions Pastor

Hey Redemption City Church!

I am so excited to welcome Jonathan Spangler as our Family and Missions Pastor at Redemption City Church. Jonathan, Kori and their kids (Graycie, Levi, Abram, Lila Ruth, Calvary and Hazel) are thrilled about Jonathan joining the Redemption City staff! The Spanglers have been attending RCC for several months after moving from North Carolina in July of 2020. Kori is a third grade teacher at Agathos Christian School where all of their children currently attend.

Jonathan comes to us with over 15 years of ministry experience including kids, students, discipleship and groups, and as an elder at his previous church in North Carolina. He has served at four different churches of various sizes. He has a passion to see the next generation follow Christ from an early age, loves helping parents raise their kids grow in Christ, gets energized by building teams of people who can point the next generation to Christ, and loves seeing the gospel advance missionally all over the world. Jonathan is excited to build on the great things that are happening in Kids City, making it the kind of Sunday morning, gospel-centered, fun, safe, experience that kids ask their parents to come to and parents love that their kids get to be a part of.

Jonathan has also served as the Church Relationship Liaison for Visiontrust International where he managed and grew a network of church partners to work alongside global leaders in the care of orphaned, neglected, abused, and trafficked children around the world. During his time at VIsiontrust International not only did Jonathan develop 30+ international partnerships to places like the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Togo, and Tanzanie but the Lord also used this time to give him a heart for the nations and seeing Jesus’ fame spread throughout the world. Jonathan most recently has been serving as the Chief Operating Officer for Woven Papyrus Adoption Project, a non profit organization that assists families in the realization and raising of funds to complete their adoptions. He hopes to use his experiences in these areas help him as he leads RCC’s missional efforts.

As we talked to those who have worked with Jonathan over the years we consistently heard things like “loves people”, “he loves to equip others'', “great at building teams” and “you won’t find a family with higher integrity”. We believe you will enjoy getting to know the Spangler’s as much as we have.

Jonathan’s role as Pastor of Families (of kids birth-5th grade) and Missions will be divided up into 80% going towards Kids City and their parents, and 20% to RCC missions. In our conversations with churches our size or a little bit ahead of us, this should work great.

Redemption City Family I am so excited for the days ahead and look forward to seeing how God uses our church for His glory as we make disciples, train leaders, and feed the hungry!

Love y’all,

Pastor Jed
